The ATLAS Thermal Binocular Is The Perfect Tool For The Serious Mariner
ATLAS is the first commercially available thermal binocular based on 12-micron technology. Lightweight and fully waterproof, the N-Vision Optics ATLAS Thermal Binocular is extremely robust and capable.
Navigate, Search, Identify
ATLAS thermal binocular is a perfect solution for every boater. Be confident in all seen and unforeseen situations, including harsh weather, loss of direction, and darkness with the reliable, lightweight and waterproof ATLAS thermal binocular.
Sail with Confidence
Sail through any body of water and be poised in your surroundings. Even in the most adverse weather conditions the ATLAS Thermal Binocular continues to perform. ATLAS has a long-lasting battery life, is water proof, floats, and is built with Anti-reflective (AR) coated high speed (F1.2) Germanium optics. Be confident that you will be fully aware of your surroundings with the best equipment on the water.
Capture and Store Media
Create lasting memories of your adventures. Easily capture photos and record real time thermal videos. Simply upload your thermal images and video onto your personal device via ATLAS’ USB or Analog Video Output. Share your thermal adventures with your family and friends.
Identify Targets in Complete Darkness
Identify vessels running dark, navigational buoys and hazards, and swimmers in complete darkness while utilizing 4 different polarity viewing modes: Black Hot, White Hot, Color Pallet, and our unique Edge Detect mode not found in any other commercially available thermal binocular. Ideal for search and rescue operations, navigating at night, and conducting surveillance.
Extended Detection and Identification Ranges
Detect and identify heat signatures at extended ranges in the most challenging environmental conditions with ATLAS’ state of the art 640×480, 12 micron sensor, with industry leading 60Hz refresh rate. ATLAS provides 2x and 4x digital zoom capability inside a durable, no-slip rubberized housing. ATLAS is built for the outdoors.
“I do a lot of work in congested waterways where there is a lot of traffic at night. Not everyone likes to follow navigational rules so I use my ATLAS and scan the water for vessels running dark. I’ve avoided a few close calls thanks to this unit. I highly recommend it to the shipping community.”
-Capt. Paul in Florida
“I really like the different polarity modes. Each setting seems to work better in certain scenarios than others. I use my ATLAS for navigational purposes at night and in heavy fog but I love that it is reliable as a great search and rescue tool.”
-Paula in Florida
“I Captain a fishing charter boat and for my guests and crews safety I purchased an ATLAS from N-Vision Optics. Not only does everyone love my ATLAS but I am more prepared than ever for any situation. You can’t put a price on security and safety”
– Joseph in North Carolina
“I bought an ATLAS for the safety of my crew. If God forbid one of them went overboard, I want to make sure I’ve done everything to find them and bring them home safely. The ATLAS gives me that capability.”
– Capt. John in Washington

Help Prevent Casualties
The ATLAS Thermal Binocular delivers a powerful tool during man overboard situations by allowing the spotter to maintain visual contact and accurately guide the crew in recovery operations.
ATLAS’ no-slip rubberized housing provides its user with a durable and waterproof unit capable of detecting a man sized object from over a mile away.
Of all U.S. recreational boating accidents recorded in 2016, 351 man-overboard scenarios occurred resulting in 183 deaths. Give your search and rescue operations higher odds for success with the ATLAS Thermal Binocular from N-Vision Optics.

ATLAS Frequently Asked Questions
Based on our observations under different conditions we are reasonably confident that a man’s head sized heat signature would be detectable in the water up to approximately 1000 meters away. However, we do not pretend to claim a specific range for this type of incident.
We, just like everybody else, base our detection (as well as recognition and identification) ranges off of the US Army DRI model for detection of a standard man size figure.
There are no industry/military accepted DRI modeling tools for man overboard conditions. This is one of the reasons we don’t specify what it is or may be. Ranges of detection are influenced by many environmental factors such as water temperature, moisture levels in the air, the size of the individual / object being identified, the qualification level of the observer, etc. In cases of a man overboard recovery, the height of the waves and elevation of the observation point from the sea level are also very important.
Whether docked at the marina, at anchor, or underway, ATLAS Thermal Binoculars assure ship security by effectively detecting threats to ship and crew safety.
